EPAT®

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT), sometimes referred to as Shockwave Therapy, is FDA-approved and a clinically-proven noninvasive technology for treating patients with acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain. EPAT uses acoustic pressure waves that stimulate metabolic processes, enhance blood circulation, and accelerates the healing process in acute and overuse soft tissue injuries.

Musculoskeletal pain can occur in muscles, bones, connective tissues, ligaments and tendons. It can be a consequence of repetitive movement patterns, strains or an acute injury as tissue becomes inflamed and damaged. Symptoms will vary from person to person depending on the severity and whether the injury was caused by an acute or chronic condition.

Procedure: Patients experience a pulsing sensation at the treatment site with mild discomfort during the treatment with little to no pain after the procedure.

Treatment Time: 3-5 sessions at weekly intervals 5-10 minutes

Expected Results:

  • Depending on the injury, results may be immediate or take up to 4 weeks for pain relief to begin.
