Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure which gently exfoliates the superficial layer of the skin and helps grow back radiant, flawless, healthy skin.
Microdermabrasion uses a minimally abrasive instrument—either microparticles or a diamond-tipped wand to gently buff the skin, treats the topmost layer. A vacuum then sucks up the exfoliated skin cells. Needles or anaesthetics are not needed for this procedure. Microdermabrasion treats a few of the top-most layers of the skin called the stratum corneum. Similar to brushing your teeth, microdermabrasion gently treats “plaque” and debris on the skin. Since human skin typically regenerates at approximately 30-day intervals, skin improvement with microdermabrasion is temporary and needs to be repeated at average intervals of two to four weeks for continued improvement. Multiple treatments in combination with sunscreen, sun avoidance, and other skin-care creams yield best results.
